The theme today is birds.
Pigeon in downtown Knoxville.
A young mockingbird, Tennessee's state bird.
I'm not sure what kind of bird this is. The photo was taken through a glass window and had a washed-out look to it. I lowered the brightness and upped the contrast to try to help.

This weekend saw two large festivals in downtown Knoxville: the Dogwood Arts Festival on Market Square and the Italian Street Fair (part of the Rossini Festival) on Gay Street.
Yes. The ice cream machine is being turned by the rocking chair. Only in Tennessee.

Every spring UT has an International Fair. Foreign student groups, like the Indian Student Association, set up booths with maps, pictures and objects from home. Each booth also sells lots of good food. I took these pictures at the International Fair today.
Dolls from the Thailand booth.
Thailand booth
I can't remember its name, but this instrument was on the Bangladesh booth. You can't see it in the photo, but bellows on the back are used to operate it.
Incidentally, if you are ever in Brussels, I recommend visiting the Musical Instrument Museum. It has a lot of very nice displays of instruments from all over the world, and also from ages past, like the glass harmonica and serpents. Most of the exhibits have accompanying audio, so you can hear what the instruments sound like.

It's been a dull, rainy Easter here in Knoxville. These pictures of downtown are from last weekend, when it was warm and sunny.
Here is a link to a panorama of the Knoxville skyline with the World's Fair Park in the foreground. It was constructed using the Panorama function of the Olympus xD cards.
Henley Street Bridge over the Tennessee River
A nice view, I think, despite the wires.
First Baptist Church
Rowing boy statue outside of the Suntrust Building on Gay Street.
Unfortunately, the shadows are covering his face, but I always liked the rowing boy.

I've always felt that summer was my favorite season. But the beautiful springs in East Tennessee tempt me to change allegiances. The dogwoods are particularly lovely just now. I took these pictures last weekend in downtown Knoxville.
